In a league that is getting smaller and smaller, with few dominant big men, the Wolves see Pekovics size and strength as one of their best chances to create consistent mismatches in the demanding Western Conference. The key will be keeping Pekovic on the floor. He has missed time due to various foot and ankle issues, most minor in nature that come from the pounding he takes on a nightly basis. When Saunders took over for Kahn earlier this summer, he said he thought the Wolves could make some adjustments that would help him and the rest of their players stay healthy over the long season.
